Clinical Biostats, LLC ("Clinical Biostats," "we," "us," or "our") operates websites, mobile applications, and related services, including the CalcPass mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, the third-party services that help us operate our applications, and the choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy applies to CalcPass and may also apply to additional applications and services developed and operated by Clinical Biostats, LLC in the future. If a particular application has materially different privacy practices, we may provide additional privacy disclosures within that application.

1. Information We Collect

We design our applications to collect as little personally identifying information as reasonably necessary to provide their functionality.

CalcPass does not require you to create a traditional account, and the App does not require you to provide your name, email address, or phone number in order to use its core functionality.

When you use CalcPass, the App uses Firebase Authentication's anonymous authentication functionality to create a randomly generated anonymous user identifier. This identifier is used to associate application data with your anonymous user record so that your progress and preferences can be maintained.

For CalcPass, information associated with this anonymous identifier may include:

• Exam date: the date you provide so that CalcPass can create and manage a personalized study schedule.
• Study progress: tutorial pages read, chapters completed, and related tutorial progress.
• Chapter confidence: information reflecting your progress or confidence within individual chapters.
• Practice activity: information about practice questions you have answered and whether your answers were correct.
• Onboarding status: information indicating whether certain introductory or onboarding steps have been completed.
• Subscription status: information necessary to determine whether you have access to CalcPass+ features and the applicable subscription entitlement.
• Usage and rate-limiting information: limited usage information, such as the number of questions requested within a period, used to prevent automated abuse of the question database and protect the service.

This information is used to provide the App's functionality and is not collected for advertising or the sale of personal information.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

CalcPass does not require or intentionally collect the following information for its core functionality:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your telephone number
• Your precise physical location
• Your contacts
• Your photos or photo library
• Government-issued identification numbers
• Advertising profiles or advertising identifiers for targeted advertising

If you voluntarily contact Clinical Biostats for customer support, we may receive information that you choose to provide in that communication, such as your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information solely for purposes such as responding to your inquiry, providing support, and resolving technical issues.

3. Payment and Subscriptions

CalcPass+ subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and Apple's in-app purchase system. Clinical Biostats does not receive or store your credit card number, bank account information, or other payment credentials used to complete an Apple App Store transaction.

Apple processes payments and billing information in accordance with Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

CalcPass uses RevenueCat to help manage subscription entitlements and subscription status. RevenueCat may process information necessary to associate a purchase or subscription entitlement with the anonymous user identifier used by the App. Clinical Biostats uses this information to determine whether subscription features should be available to you.

Clinical Biostats does not use subscription information for advertising or sell subscription information to third parties.

4. Firebase and Cloud Storage

CalcPass uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions, to provide certain features of the App.

Application information described in this Privacy Policy may be stored in Firebase and associated with the anonymous user identifier described above.

The information stored for CalcPass may include your exam date, study progress, chapter confidence, answered-question history, onboarding status, subscription entitlement information, and limited usage information used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Firebase is operated by Google. Google's handling of information through Firebase is also governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy documentation.

5. Crash and Diagnostic Information

CalcPass uses Firebase Crashlytics to help Clinical Biostats identify, investigate, and correct crashes, errors, and other technical problems.

Crashlytics may receive technical diagnostic information associated with an app installation or anonymous application identifier. Depending on the circumstances, diagnostic information may include information such as the device model, operating system version, application version, crash information, error information, and the state of the application when an error occurs.

This information is used for software reliability, troubleshooting, security, and product improvement. Clinical Biostats does not use Crashlytics information to serve advertising or sell personal information.

6. Analytics and Advertising

At the time this Privacy Policy was last updated, CalcPass does not use Firebase Analytics for behavioral analytics or advertising purposes.

CalcPass does not display third-party advertising and does not intentionally use advertising trackers to build an advertising profile of users.

If Clinical Biostats introduces analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies into an application in the future, we will update the applicable privacy disclosures and, where required, provide any applicable choices or permissions.

Clinical Biostats uses the information described in this Privacy Policy for purposes including:

• Providing and maintaining application functionality.
• Saving and synchronizing study progress and preferences.
• Creating and maintaining personalized study schedules.
• Tracking practice activity and learning progress.
• Providing access to subscription features.
• Preventing automated abuse and unauthorized access to application resources.
• Detecting, diagnosing, and correcting crashes and technical problems.
• Responding to customer support requests.
• Maintaining the security and reliability of our applications and services.
• Complying with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your information with advertisers for targeted advertising.

8. Data Retention and Reinstallation

CalcPass stores certain application information in the cloud so that your progress, preferences, exam date, and other supported information can persist across sessions.

The information is associated with an anonymous user identifier rather than a traditional account containing your name or email address.

The cloud-stored information associated with your anonymous user identifier is designed to persist across deletion and reinstallation of the App. Reinstalling the App does not necessarily delete previously stored application information.

Clinical Biostats retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable service, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot technical issues, comply with legal obligations, and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

9. Data Deletion Requests

Because CalcPass does not require a traditional user account containing your name or email address, there is no conventional username-and-password account to delete.

You may nevertheless contact Clinical Biostats to request deletion of information associated with your anonymous application identifier.

To make a deletion request, contact us using the information provided in the Contact Us section below. Because CalcPass uses an anonymous application identifier rather than a traditional user account, we may need information from you that allows us to identify the relevant application record. In some circumstances, we may not be able to associate an anonymous record with a particular individual or locate a specific record based solely on the information provided.

Deletion requests may be subject to applicable legal, security, fraud-prevention, or record-retention requirements.

10. Children's Privacy

CalcPass is an educational application intended primarily for students studying calculus, including high-school students who may be under the age of 18.

CalcPass does not require users to provide their name, email address, telephone number, or other directly identifying information to use the App's core functionality.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or marketing purposes.

Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information to Clinical Biostats in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy may contact us using the information below. We will take reasonable steps to investigate and address the request.

11. Third-Party Service Providers

Clinical Biostats uses certain third-party services to provide, secure, and operate its applications. For CalcPass, these services include, as applicable:

• Apple: App distribution, in-app purchases, payment processing, and related platform services.
• Google Firebase: anonymous authentication, cloud data storage, backend services, and crash diagnostics through Firebase Crashlytics.
• RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement management.

These providers may process information in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. Clinical Biostats uses these providers only to support the operation, security, and functionality of its applications.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

Clinical Biostats and the third-party service providers used to operate our applications may process or store information in countries other than the country in which you reside.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers and processing of information.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding personal information, which may include rights to access, delete, correct, restrict, or object to certain processing of your information.

Because CalcPass is designed to minimize personally identifying information, the information we maintain may not always be directly associated with an identifiable individual. Nevertheless, if you believe you have privacy rights that apply to your information, you may contact us using the information below and we will evaluate your request in accordance with applicable law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our applications, services, technology, legal requirements, or business practices.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
